新加坡六合彩开奖网 Office of Research Workshops on National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates () Proposals: January through August (due August 21, 2024)

A common first step in establishing an NSF research center is to demonstrate success with an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) Site in the field of interest.  REU Sites are also helpful in recruiting graduate students. Vice Provost Coleen Pugh and any interested teams will coordinate and work on their proposals for submission in 2024, following a similar approach used in 2023, to separate NSF divisions according to the following tentative schedule:

January: informational meeting, and debriefing from the teams of the three REU proposals submitted in 2023 (decisions will be announced by Spring 2024)

February: discuss research areas and appropriate NSF divisions, proposal outline, budgets, and target students

March: discuss section (b) Nature of Student Activities (training activities, including research/field-specific activities, professional development activities, industry / research field trips; social activities)

April: peer review of written section (b); discuss section (c) The Research Environment

May: peer review of written sections (b) & (c); discuss potential faculty contributors and leadership teams, housing and other logistics

June: request possible undergraduate research projects from faculty contributors; discuss reference section; section (d) Student Recruitment and Selection; section (e) Student and Mentor Professional Development & Expectations of Behavior; and section (f) Project Evaluation and Reporting

July: peer review of proposal components.  Discuss section (g) Results from Prior NSF Support

August: complete any remaining sections and polish proposals

NCURA Webinars:

Developing Compelling Budget Justifications

Budget justifications have taken on increasing significance in recent years, moving from explaining to reviewers the basis of cost calculations to persuading them that the items are critical to the success of the project. In this webinar, you will learn how to craft a budget justification that not only conforms to Uniform Guidance expectations but also effectively establishes the credibility of the proposed project. Infrastructure supports will also be explored, including sample questions, templates, and automation. Inserting a few more specific details in targeted places in the narrative and budget justification can earn the essential benefit of the doubt points that elevate your projects into the 鈥淔unded鈥 category.

This session is designed for individuals who have at least a couple years of experience with proposal writing or have responsibility for assisting faculty with proposal development.
